Oneida County
Description
The tree is a vigorous grower and a reliable cropper. It is doubtless worthy of more attention from fruit growers in the localities to which it is well adapted. It originated in Oneida county, New York, and it was named after Domine Kirkland, a missionary to the Oneida Native Americans. As of 1905, it was but little known outside of the Mohawk valley.
