- Description
- An apple of the Fameuse group, but it is larger than it and not as large as the McIntosh. It is also less red and attractive from these apples. Desirable for dessert use but not for culinary purposes in comparison to other apples of the same season. Tree comes to bearing early. It is not known if the apple will be desirable as a commercial variety. It originated with L. Woolverton in Ontario. First presented with the name Woolverton in 1879 at the Ontario Fruit Growers Association.

- It is not very firm but it is fine, crisp, very tender, very juicy, mild subacid, aromatic and has some of the perfume and texture of McIntosh.
