Hagloe

Also known as
  • Summer Hagloe
  • Hagloe Crab
Contested date of origin. William Coxe of Burlington, New Jersey, is recorded as having cultivated the fruit, providing a description of it. Although the cultivar may used for cooking and is a valuable market fruit, it is most notably a cider apple. The proportion of juice to fibrous matter requires nearly one third more of this cultivar to make a barrel of cider, which was highly regarded.
