My mother’s line starts with Johann Peter and Margaret Flegelaar’s son Stephen (born 1742) who married Maria Van Benschoten in October 1764 in Reformed Church at Rhinebeck and are buried in the graveyard by the church. They parented Peter born in Nov. 1770 who married Catherine Loescher in 1792… They in turn were my great, great grandparents on my mother’s side.

I expect you are correct in tracing the bible through Solomon (b. 1768) and his descendants. That probably explains why the bible contained the information on Solomon’s children and in particular his son Stephen which I included on the last page of my previous letter. Perhaps that branch then ran out of male heirs, or they weren’t interested in the bible, and it somehow found its way to the descendants of Solomon’s brother Peter (b. 1770) from who I descended. Perhaps my father can throw some light on this, since the nephew Herbert of George H. you mentioned must have been close to my grandfather’s generation.
